I just found this show last night and am amazed that there are only 7 reviews of this very intense show. Given how there are shows from the 90's with 30, 40 or 50 reviews, how can this show not be taken more seriously? (sorry Cliff, I'm not going to lump in the 80's, at least the early 80's) . This is only a partial show, but Jerry is on fire and his playing is not only aggressive but flawless in execution. This Playing in the Band has to be heard to be believed as does the China Rider transition and this other worldly Other One. Jerry at his very best? I'm convinced it's darn close. Give it a spin today- the sound quality is pretty good, certainly as good as many boards from the 80's and 90's.

Excellent show, though I'm not sure I agree with you on the sound quality. The mix/levels are quite variable throughout that gorinsky file, and at times problematic, which is typical for what circulates from December of 1972, and there are a couple of tragic cuts.

A real nice '72 Bertha, featuring a great solo from Jer, and of course the Playin' in the Band is extraordinary, easily among the very best performances of this song in 1972. I think quite a bit of material is missing from the first set.

The first half of the second set is magical. The China/Rider segue is rather unique, with some very interesting leads from Jer. Of course the highlight is the Jam out of Truckin' and an extraordinary version of The Other One, sadly its cut at a crucial time.

I agree these December '72 shows dont garner the attention they rightly deserve. It's certainly an interesting period, the band is rounding the corner into 1973.

As far as why this show seems to be at least somewhat neglected, perhaps its the untimely cuts?
